SDS#16: Ghost in the Machine

This week, a new platform, the C64DTV (Direct To TV), a C64 clone built inside a joystick, created by Jery Ellsworth. The C64DTV come with 20 built-in games and can be hacked into a full blown C64 computer, with joystick ports, user port, iec port and PS2 keyboard.
Technically, it adds to the c64 characteristics: a new 256 color screen mode, blitter, more RAM and a flash ROM were frequently used programs can be stored.

This week demo is then, Ghost in the machine by TRSI, winner of the Mixed Competition at Maximun Overdose 8

Virtual Ebro Delta

Yesterday, June 14 of 2007, a project I worked with Jorge Castillo (webmaster of Pastbytes and Retrocomputación) and Eve (What's your name Eve? ) since late December 2006 until early May of this year, was officially open.
The project, is the virtual representation of the Ebro Delta, in Tarragona, Spain; in conmemoration of the 150 anniversary of the Comunidad General de Regantes del Delta del río Ebro.

In this virtual world, you can visit various point of turistic interest, aswell as some installations of the Comunidad de Regantes and part of the city of Amposta.

Sprite BASIC

Sprite BASIC is an expansion of 47 new commands for the C64 BASIC, written by Adreas Schulteiβ and originally published as a type-in on the Spanish magazine Commodore World #32 of January 1987 (and possibly also in the RUN magazine in other places of Europe and the U.S.A.).
Sprite BASIC uses interrupts to handle sprites and their collisions, and also the sound, that way it's posible to sprites moving on the screen and sound while the BASIC program continue execution.

FrankenBlog

This is an entry that I've been delaying for some time now, and is about the mods I did to the original script used in this blog.
This blog is based in the PluggedOutBlog script by Jonathan Beckett; the first thing I added was the bilingual capacity. After that I added image gallery capacity by modifying the iFrame Gallery script.
I took the idea (and part of the CSS) of the entry thumbnails you can see on the sidebar from DannyChoo.com
A modification the reader can't see is the ability to embed .txt files onto an entry content, with the double advantage of not using mySQL space and be able of design the entry in pure html rather that bbcode.
Finally, originally the blog script didn't had the capacity to paginate the entries, to achieve that, I used the great Paginator script, written by Jorge Pinedo

SDS#12: Breaking the limits

The first demo this week is called Krestage 3 for C64, by Crest released on 13 May 2007. This is the first part of the demo, showing some weird stuff, like 50px wide sprites (expanded 25px wide sprites) and 9 sprites on the same scanline:

All work and no demos makes Woz a dull boy

Sorry for the missing demo show the past weeks, but I'm really busy, and a nearly hard drive crash a couple of days ago didn't make things easier either.
Hopefully, I'll be back with more demos next week, bye!
